The limited scope of representation allows your lawyer to decide which tasks are performed for you in legal matters. Thus, a defense attorney can negotiate to reduce an offense to a crime, to reduce the sentence or future consequences of a conviction. If your case is treated as if the same act could lead to both a misdemeanor and a misdemeanor, the misdemeanor could lead to charges and the grand jury being convened. You can also have modest means at which the lawyer can reduce his fees if your household income is less than $100,000 or less per year, or $1,500 for a family of four.
